It's weight-loss time again! No doubt you'll reach your ideal weight by summer. But while you're dieting and exercising through spring, these fashion tricks will make it look like you're bikini-ready right now.

Tips for your trouble zones

Though the snow blows, avoid wearing baggy clothes. You may think they hide curves. But they'll make them look more pronounced. Instead, wear clothes that fit you, and avoid outfits with bulky or boxy elements, like tops or bottoms with cargo pockets.

Also, avoid clothes that emphasize your middle. If your tummy troubles you, avoid wearing prints, layers, and horizontal stripes. More importantly, don’t wear large prints; they will make you look bigger. Instead, wear patterns that camouflage the areas you want to hide. Vertical stripes, for example, will make you look taller and thinner.

No chunky, clunky, or thick

While you're staying away from clothes that emphasize your middle, also skip clothing that is rigid or thick, ruffled, heavily textured, shiny, or overly body-hugging. You should instead look for fabrics that’ll drape perfectly over your curves. If you’re apple-shaped, light colors on your bottom half and darker colors on your top half will even out your shape. The opposite is true if you’re pear-shaped: Opt for dark colors on bottom and light colors on top.

Concern for your bottom half should run all the way down. This means that you should avoid wearing clunky shoes. Certain kinds of boots make you look bigger and shorter. If you want lengthening effect, look for high heels and ankle boots. This pairing will make your legs look longer, which will make you look thinner and taller. And another trick is as you walk to draw your core toward your spine, much like as you're maybe used to doing in a yoga class.

Undie fundamentals

Avoid underwear that’s too small. Underwear that's too small creates bulges and panty lines. Buy underwear that fits your body perfectly. It should offer support, so consider boy shorts and briefs that help pull in your butt, stomach, and thighs. Another trick is as you walk to draw your core toward your spine, much like as you're maybe used to doing in a yoga class.

Avoid bras that flatten your breasts or cause them to sag. The right bra helps you shape your silhouette by keeping your chest in check and your waist defined.

A fit fit any time of year

Looking thinner starts with the right clothes, no matter what stage of your diet you've reached. Even when you've reached your ideal weight, knowing you have your look down will help you to step out with confidence and style.
