How To Become A Morning Person

11 Tips To Becoming A Morning Person

In a perfect world, everyone would be a morning person. But, unfortunately, a lot of us are night owls. For most, that means struggling to get out of bed, and rushing to get to work. Do you wish you could be a morning person? Now you can — here are eleven steps to becoming a morning person:

1. Sleep more

Getting the recommended seven-to-nine hours will make it easier to get up. To help you sleep sounder, keep the laptop and other work out of the bed.

2. Be consistent

Set your alarm for the same time every morning, even on weekends. Waking up at the same time every day will make it easier jumping out of bed.

3. Start slowly

Choose a new wake-up time, and gradually work toward that goal. Start by setting your alarm clock for an hour later, and then move down closer to the goal time using 15-minute increments until you reach that goal.

4. Don’t hit the snooze button

Try to set only one alarm for when it’s time to get up, and maybe another a few minutes later in case you snooze through it.

5. Get some sun

Research shows that a little light is all that is needed to reset the body clock. Keep the blinds open during the night, so you wake up naturally as the sun rises.

6. Eat breakfast

To get rid of sleepiness in the morning, be sure to eat breakfast along with your coffee. It’ll boost your energy and brainpower.

7. Work out

Follow a morning workout routine to boost your energy in the mornings.

8. Treat yourself

To better motivate yourself to get out of bed in the morning, have something waiting for you when you wake up, like muffins or a cappuccino.

9. Prepare the night before

To make your morning go smoother, do all meal prep the night before.

10. Just do it

When push comes to shove, just wake up in the morning. Research has shown that grogginess can boost creativity, so don’t feel bad about feeling drowsy.

11. Forgive yourself

Don’t beat yourself up on those days when you can’t seem to get out of bed, especially if it’s the weekend.

Get more done in the morning

Waking up early has lots of advantages. Not only does it allow more time for productivity, but it also makes the day less stressful. It is possible to transform yourself into a morning person. Remember to go to sleep when you get tired, get enough sleep every night, and set an alarm every day.
