8 Simple Hacks To Turn Back the Clock

Your guide to youthful-looking skin

You don’t have to invest in expensive anti-aging products and treatments to turn back the clock. Here are eight simple hacks that will help you achieve your aesthetic goals:

1. Hydrate inside and out

Water not only helps to hydrate your skin, it also flushes out toxins from the body. The result? You’ll notice your skin is clearer and you feel more energized. What’s more, it’s important to use a moisturizer twice a day  choose a lighter moisturizer for the day, and a heavier one at night.

2. Take your omega-3s

Fish oil contains omega-3s, which have anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation causes premature aging, including the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Taking fish oil every day leaves skin looking more supple and protects it from free radicals.

3. Wear sunscreen

Sun damage is the number one cause of premature aging, and it can be easily prevented. Before starting your day, always religiously apply a moisturizer that contains SPF 30 or higher. If you’re going to be outside all day, be sure to reapply every two hours. What’s more, you can wear sunglasses to help prevent the formation of fine lines around the eyes.

4. Use products containing retinol

Retinol is one of the few skincare ingredients that has been proven to fight the early signs of aging. Retinol can be found in over-the-counter skin care products, and it can also be prescribed as Retin-A. Retinol helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, smooth skin texture, and even out pigmentation. Incorporating retinol products in your early 30s is one of the easiest ways to repair and recharge the skin.

5. Sleep more

Lack of sleep can accelerate the aging process. Getting enough sleep gives your body enough time to repair skin cells, leaving your skin looking brighter and healthier. Aim to sleep at least eight hours a night.

6. Exfoliate

Exfoliating one-to-two times a week helps your skin rid itself of dead cells. And it stimulates collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Try using products containing fruit acids that are gentle and effective without irritating skin.

7. Eat anti-inflammatory foods

A diet high in processed foods, sugars, and sodium can cause dark circles and bags under the eyes as well as bloating and breakouts. Instead, try a diet rich in organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, whole grains, and lean proteins for more radiant, youthful and clear skin.

8. Cleanse your skin

Cleansing your skin both in the morning and at night helps to wash away pollutants, such as dirt and oil, that contribute to premature aging. Wash your skin using a cleanser containing vitamin C or hyaluronic acid, both of which contain powerful anti-aging properties. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects skin from free radicals, whereas hyaluronic acid keeps skin plump and hydrated.

Say goodbye to fine lines and wrinkles

It’s easy to keep skin looking youthful when you follow a few simple tips. A vibrant, glowing complexion all comes down to wearing sunblock, using the right skincare and cosmetic products, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Follow the above advice, and you’ll always keep them guessing!
