Should You Get CoolSculpting Before or After the Holidays?

Lasers are frequently used in body contouring procedures to melt unwanted fat, but it’s now possible to freeze fat cells in stubborn areas of the body using CoolSculpting.

If you’re unfamiliar with CoolSculpting, it’s a non-surgical fat reduction procedure that uses controlled cooling to freeze fat cells without harming the surrounding tissues. The fat cells are then crystallized and die off as a result. The body naturally eliminates them over a few months. You’ll experience up to a 25% reduction in fat cells after each CoolSculpting session. Best of all, the results are permanent.

With the holidays coming up, it might seem like a perfect time to get CoolSculpting done. That’s because some worry if they’ll be able to keep off weight with all the holiday goodies everywhere, while others worry if they’ll be able to fit into their party clothes. Although CoolSculpting is quick, it can take a while to see results. Here are some reasons why you should wait until after the holidays to get CoolSculpting treatments:

1. You’ll have more time

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and busy during the holidays. But right after they end, you’ll probably find that you have a lot more time free. To save yourself some time and stress, it’s better to wait until you’re not so busy to schedule CoolSculpting treatments.

2. You’ll have time to get in shape

Most people gain a few pounds during the holidays and then lose that weight in January and February. Since CoolSculpting isn’t a weight-loss treatment, you should make sure you’re at or close to your ideal weight before starting treatments.

3. You won’t compromise your results

If you get CoolSculpting done right before the start of the holiday season, you might end up undoing some of your results by gaining a few pounds. Though CoolSculpting destroys fat cells, it doesn’t destroy every fat cell in a specific body area. That means that any remaining fat cells can expand when you put on weight. Don’t chance it — instead, wait until after the holidays are over to begin CoolSculpting treatments.

4. You’ll feel less anxious

The holidays can be stressful and chaotic. The last thing you want to worry about is whether CoolSculpting is working and whether you’ll see your results in time. It can take up to four months to see the final results from a CoolSculpting treatment. Unless you had scheduled your first treatment in September, you probably won’t notice significant results until March (if you start CoolSculpting now).

Ring in the New Year with CoolSculpting

Bottom line: you should wait until after the holidays are over to begin your CoolSculpting treatments. You can even view it as part of your New Year’s resolution to get in shape by the time spring rolls around.
