3 Smoothies That Taste Like Summer

3 recipes to help you keep cool in the dog days of summer

One of the best things about summer? All the delicious seasonal fruit and produce at the ready for your every snacking need. While winter is the time to make smoothies with frozen fruit, summer means shopping fresh and local (hello, farmer’s markets!). Whether you’re making breakfast or simply snacking, these three smoothie recipes are sure to keep you refreshed.

1. A kiss of vitamin C

This smoothie recipe contains a ton of vitamin C that boosts the immune system, thanks to oranges and raspberries.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 2 peeled oranges
  • 10 ice cubes

Put everything into the blender at once and pulse for 45 seconds-1 minute until your desired consistency.

2. Drink your greens

This smoothie recipe is packed with fiber (thanks to chia seeds and kale) and tons of vitamins, including vitamins K, C, B6, and A.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup banana + mixed berries
  • 1 cup kale
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds

Starting with ½ cup of almond milk and slowly working in the remaining ¼ cup, put ingredients into the blender and blend for 45 seconds.

3. Pineapple-mango paradise

This smoothie contains a powerful punch of antioxidants from the mangos and pineapple, as well as potassium from the banana.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

Put all ingredients in the blender. Blend on medium for 30 seconds, then blend on high for 15 seconds to get a thicker consistency. Add honey if you wish.
