10 Quick and Easy Ways to Get Rid of Pimples

The best way to get rid of pimples quickly

Pimples seem to pop out of nowhere most of the time literally, and they can take forever to go away. While you can’t make a zit vanish overnight, there’s a lot you can do to make it appear less angry and puffy by morning. Here are 10 super easy ways to get rid of pimples fast:

1. Ice pimples

If your pimple is swollen and painful, reach for an ice cube. Wrap it in a thin cloth, and set the ice cube on the zit for five minutes. This will help to relieve pain and temporarily reduce swelling.

2. Make a paste made from crushed aspirin

Aspirin naturally contains salicylic acid, which helps fight acne. Applying a paste made of aspirin immediately removes excess oil and dead skin, unclogging and drying out pores while reducing swelling and redness. All you have to do is crush an aspirin pill with a spoon and mix it with a few drops of water.

3. Skip the toner

Astringents can disrupt the skin barrier, causing inflammation and irritation. That’s why, when pimples crop up, you should skip the toner.

4. Apply hydrocortisone cream

If your pimple is red and raised, apply hydrocortisone cream to the area before bed. In the morning you’ll notice the pimple is less red and significantly flattered.

5. Spot treat zits

You’ve probably seen acne spot treatments at your local drugstore. They usually contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or benzoyl peroxide. These spot treatments do the trick by reducing inflammation and drying up the pimple.

6. Don’t touch

If you want your zit to disappear asap, you may be thinking about popping it. But, that could lead to inflammation and scarring. Picking will only make a pimple take longer to heal, and it can also lead to infection.

7. Dab tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is a natural antimicrobial that can help clear up pimples fast. You’ll want to dilute tea tree oil before applying it to a pimple. Just dab some diluted tea tree oil on a cotton swab, and apply it directly to the zit.

8. Use the right cleanser

Investing in an excellent cleanser can keep your skin in tip-top shape, and help pimples heal faster. Choose a cleanser that is designed for acne-prone skin, and hydrates skin while removing excess oil and exfoliating.

9. Apply a warm compress

When you feel a pimple coming on, use a warm compress or steam to bring everything to the surface. Once your pimple appears, apply a spot treatment.

10. Switch foundations

Skip using heavy foundation to try to cover up pimples, which can contribute to breakouts. Instead, reach for mineral makeup that won’t clog your pores, allowing your pimple to heal.

Wake up to clearer skin

No one likes having to deal with pimples, but you can substantially reduce the appearance of pimples overnight by using the right cleanser, switching makeup, applying ice and warm compresses, and using a spot treatment. Before you know it, your pimple will be gone!
