7 Reasons to Switch from Coffee to Tea

While both coffee and tea have their health benefits, here are seven reasons to switch from coffee to tea:

1. Whiter teeth

1. WHITER TEETH

We all know that coffee stains teeth, making them appear a dull white. But switching to tea could give you a brighter smile, especially if you drink white or green tea. This is because your teeth won’t get stained as much.

2. Lower cholesterol

2. LOWER CHOLESTEROL

While drip coffee removes compounds called cafestol and kahweol, unfiltered coffee retains them. These compounds may increase bad cholesterol, increasing your risk of heart attack and stroke. Tea, on the other hand, has been shown to lower cholesterol.

3. Less frequent heartburn

3. LESS FREQUENT HEARTBURN

Coffee worsens heartburn, allowing stomach acid to splash back up into the esophagus. That’s why you should switch tea, which doesn’t exacerbate heartburn or acid reflux.

4. Better sleep

4. BETTER SLEEP

Because coffee contains a lot of caffeine, you might find it more difficult falling and staying asleep. But since tea contains a lot less caffeine than coffee does, you might find that you sleep better at night after making the switch.

5. Milder anxiety

5. MILDER ANXIETY

Drinking more than three cups of coffee a day can increase anxiety symptoms, making you feel on edge. But because there is less caffeine per cup in tea, you’re less likely to consume too much caffeine.

6. Lower risk of cancer

6. LOWER RISK OF CANCER

Numerous studies have shown that drinking tea regularly lowers your chance of getting liver, colon, stomach, pancreas, and breast cancer. Most teas contain a potent antioxidant called ECGC that fights free radicals.

7. More hydrated

7. MORE HYDRATED

Since caffeine is a diuretic, and tea has less caffeine than coffee, it’s better at keeping you hydrated. When you’re adequately hydrated, your skin looks better, you don’t get dizzy, and your whole body functions better.

It's always tea time

If you want to improve your mental and physical health, then you should consider making the switch from coffee to tea. Not only will you feel less anxious and sleep better, but you’ll also improve your general health and wellness. Plus, with so many different kinds of tea to choose from, you’ll never get bored!
