5 products for date night touch-ups
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to prepare for a special night out. Maybe it’s with a new significant other, a longtime lover, or maybe it’s with your BFFs. You want to look — and feel — your best, no matter who your date happens to be. Before you head out, you’ll want to toss these must-haves in your bag. Here are five makeup essentials for a fresh, fabulous look all night long:
1. Mattifying powder
Mattifying powder is essential to combat separation and oiliness, especially in the T-zone area of the face. To apply mattifying powder so it doesn’t look all cakey, tap a bit of it onto a brush, and then gently press and sweep the mattifying powder along your forehead, nose, and chin. Whatever’s on the agenda, a powder touch-up or two will keep you set through the night!
2. Highlighter
Once you’ve taken care of any makeup separation by resetting with powder, you’ll want to add back in the right kind of shine. Dependent on your formula preference i.e. cream, liquid or powder, sweep or dab a little more highlighter at the high points of the face: above your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, under your brow bones and don’t forget the Cupid’s bow!
3. Eyelash glue
False eyelashes can pop off in the inner corners of your eyes super easily. That’s why you should always carry eyelash glue with you to be able to fix any false eyelash malfunctions. When the inner corner of your false eyelashes pops up, take the eyelash glue and tap it on the edge of the false eyelash, and then press it down. Allow the glue to dry for 20-to-30 seconds, and you are good to go!
4. Lipstick
Let’s face it — nothing makes a look quite like a bold lip. But lipstick fades throughout the night. To prevent that from happening, invest in a high-quality liquid lipstick that is dinner and kiss-proof. Reapply it throughout the night as needed to keep your color vibrant and even.
5. Mini Mirror
If it’s a quick fix you’re after, have a trusted compact or mini mirror on hand. We all know the queue can get long and sometime’s it’s easier not to step away and into a busy powder room. Carrying your own mirror can save you in a pinch and keep you mobile as you move from one activity to the next!
