Transition Your Summer Makeup into Fall

Take Your Makeup from Summer to Fall

Summer is coming to a close, which means that it’s time to go through your beauty products and reset them for the upcoming fall months. Just as you swap out your sundresses and swimsuits for sweaters and jackets for the cooler days ahead, it’s also a good idea to take a look at your cosmetics and see how they need to shift as well. This is also a prime opportunity for you to toss out any expired or old makeup items.

Skin

As the air turns cooler, it also often becomes drier. Some people find that the heating systems in their homes also tend to dry out their skin. To compensate for this drop in humidity, it can be helpful to switch over to a heavier or creamier moisturizer—or a hydroserum face mask like LaserAway Beauty Jetsetter Hydroserum Facial Mask. That said, it’s still important to use a moisturizer that includes sun protection. We recommend LaserAway Beauty BFF SPF 50+ Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Tinted Color Corrector —all year long—even in the winter, as snow can reflect up to 80 percent of the sun’s UV light. Lastly, if your skin tends to be darker in the summer, it’s a good idea to switch to a concealer and foundation that are a shade or two lighter. You can even blend your summer makeup with your fall makeup as your skin color fades.

Eyes

If summer is all about being light and airy, then fall is when the drama starts creeping in. Change up your eye shadow or liner and play around with metallics, such as shimmering nude, and burnt tones, such as deep bronze. We recommend playing off a color that’s already in your eyes. For example, if you have blue eyes with flecks of green in them, try a dark green liner. The colder months also mean darker, heavier lashes. Experiment with falsies for a night out, or simply give yourself a few extra swipes of the mascara wand for a bolder effect.

Brows

One of the upsides about the weather getting colder is no longer having to worry about sweating off your eyebrow color. So whether you prefer a pencil or a powder, feel free to lean into those bold, beautiful brows. To be safe, top them off with a clear mascara or brow control gel to help them maintain their shape and prominence.

Lips

Bright pinks and corals are the de facto lip colors for summer but can look a little mismatched when worn with autumn tones and chunky sweaters. Try berry-inspired hues, deeper nudes, and crimson reds to complement the moodier colors of fall. Matte lipsticks can also create a more nuanced and muted effect, which works nicely for this time of year.

Step into the season

Transitioning from summer to fall is not just about updating our wardrobes but also about adjusting our makeup routine to resonate with the changing ambiance and aesthetics of the season. By making simple shifts in your skin, eye, brow, and lip products, you can embrace the autumn vibes with grace and style. The cooler months invite a depth and richness in color palette and texture, allowing for bolder and more dramatic looks. As we bid adieu to the breezy allure of summer, let’s welcome the cozy and sophisticated aura of fall, letting our makeup mirror the splendor of the season. Whether you’re opting for a shimmering metallic on the eyes or a deep berry hue on the lips, remember to let your authentic beauty shine through, no matter the season.
