Best hacks for having sex when staying with family
For most couples, the holiday season involves traveling to — and staying with — relatives. This can put a damper on your sex life. While relatives might impose house rules on you and your significant other, such as sleeping in separate beds, this doesn’t mean you have to refrain from sex altogether. Here are eight tips for having sex while visiting family over the holidays:

1. Establish a private space
If your relatives insist on you and your significant other sleeping in separate beds, you should talk to your family to find out if compromises can be made. If you are allowed to sleep together in the same bed, but there’s no privacy at all, then you might want to consider staying at a hotel or Airbnb.

2. Wait until late at night
Everyone knows that parents go to bed early. And after eating a heavy meal, sex is probably the furthest thing from your mind. That’s why you should wait until it’s super late at night to have sexy times — you won’t feel bloated, and you’ll be more likely to get away with it.

3. Sneak around
If you’re terrified of getting caught having sex, you should sneak around. Instead of having sex indoors, try having sex in a car or some bushes outside. There’s a bonus, too — the adrenaline rush will increase your libido.

4. Have sex on the floor
If you and your significant other are sleeping on a loud, old bed, then you should try having sex on the floor instead. It’s quieter and more comfortable. All you have to do is throw some blankets and pillows down on the ground. That way, no one will be able to hear awkward squeaky noises.

5. Turn on the TV
Turning on the television while having sex will help to disguise any sounds. But don’t turn it up so loud that others might get suspicious. If you don’t have a television, you can use, try using a radio or your smartphone.

6. Hide all evidence
Leaving things out, like lube and condoms, is a bad idea. You certainly don’t want family members to stumble upon it. Make sure you hide all evidence of sex. This means wrapping condoms in toilet paper and burying them in a trashcan. You’ll also want to place all lingerie back in your suitcase.

7. Avoid rough sex
Rough sex tends to get loud, drawing attention to the situation. Instead, try to have super quiet, gentle sex. That way, no one will know what you’re up to.

8. Try bathroom sex
If you can’t have sex where you’re sleeping, then try having sex in the bathroom. The shower can help drown out sex noises, and you’ll be able to lock the door. Just make sure the coast is clear.
Jingle all the way
The biggest drawback to visiting family over the holidays is lack of privacy. But if you’re unable to stay at a hotel, the next best thing is trying to sneak around. When it comes to sex while others are around, the key is to get creative. Wherever you decide to have sex, make sure you keep it down.
