2019 is finally here, and it's time to make your annual resolutions. The most common ones probably include dieting and setting career goals. But what about making more meaningful resolutions this year? Here are three New Year resolutions for your soul:

1. Commit to positive mornings

Right when you wake up, take some time to set a positive tone for the day. Some people respond well to a morning ritual, such as sipping on coffee outside, reading the newspaper, or listening to the birds chirp. Others prefer to take five minutes to focus on what they want to give to, and get from, the day. You'll notice that you're more productive and happier.

2. Carve out time for your passions

All work and no play will leave you feeling burned out. And while you might have a super long to-do list to work through, make sure you're taking care of yourself. This means carving out time for things that bring you joy and a sense of purpose. For instance, if you love to paint, then schedule time regularly to focus on that passion. You'll find that you feel more personally fulfilled.

3. Make time to travel

One of the best choices you can make is traveling more often. It can educate and reenergize you. Even if you feel like you don't have the time to travel, a weekend getaway can do wonders for your mind and soul. Exploring a nearby town can leave you feeling rejuvenated and happier.

Lead a richer, more fulfilling life

This year, make a resolution to schedule in more self-care time for yourself. This might mean pursuing your passions, traveling and exploring more, and being more positive. Remember though, it's all about progress and not perfection -- there will be bumps in the road. But get right back up on the horse and try again. Here's to a healthier and happier 2019!
