Spring skincare 101: 5 tips for spring cleaning your skin
Spring is here. Just like your home benefits tremendously from a deep spring clean, so does your skin. Here are five expert tips for transitioning your skincare routine from winter to spring:

1. Moisturize
Winter may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can skip applying moisturizer to your face. A high-quality moisturizer is crucial for soft, silky, and glowing skin. But, most dermatologists recommend that you swap out heavier dry-weather formulas for something a little lighter to suit warmer weather, such as LaserAway Beauty Drenched Peptide Enriched Moisturizer, a lightweight moisturizer made with ceramides and hyaluronic acid.

2. Exfoliate
Exfoliating a few times a week is excellent for your skin — it removes dead skin cells, leaving behind fresh skin. That being said, you should choose your skincare products wisely. Why? Because abrasive ingredients, such as salt and sugar, can be too harsh for those with sensitive skin. Look for creamy formulas with glycolic acid to leave your skin feeling and looking gorgeous without irritating it.

3. Apply sunscreen
Any dermatologist will tell you to apply sunscreen to all exposed areas year-round, rain or shine. Why? Because sun exposure ages your skin, resulting in sun damage and an increased risk of skin cancer. Look for products with an SPF of at least 50, like LaserAway Beauty BFF SPF 50+, a hydrating facial sunscreen that offers superior UVA and UVB protection. Make sure to reapply it every two hours, especially if you’re outside.

4. Revamp makeup
Makeup doesn’t last forever — it comes with an expiration date. You should spring clean your beauty bag, which means tossing out old cosmetics and buying new products. Use this time to also scale back your makeup to a light, fresh look by ditching heavy foundations and dark-colored eyeshadows and lipsticks in favor of lighter, brighter ones.

5. Wear lip balm
If your lips are dry or chapped, invest in natural, high-quality lip balm. Apply a protective lip balm throughout the day containing hydrating ingredients such as beeswax, shea butter, nut oils, and cocoa butter.
Out with the old, in with the new
Spring is a time of renewal — it’s the perfect time to switch up both your skincare and makeup routines. To spring clean your skin, ensuring it looks radiant and fresh, always wear sunscreen, moisturize daily, and choose the right skincare products and cosmetics for the warmer season just on the horizon.
