8 Fall Skincare Tips to Follow

How to transition your skincare routine from summer to fall

Fall is finally here, and that means it’s time to switch up your skincare routine. With fall comes cooler weather and a drop in humidity, which results in dry, itchy skin. Here are eight tips to transition your skincare routine from summer to fall and beyond:

1. Use a thicker moisturizer

1. USE A THICKER MOISTURIZER

You’ve probably been using a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer all summer long. But it’s time to use a thicker moisturizer. Look for a heavy cream that’s packed with ceramides to help replenish skin during the cooler, drier months, such as LaserAway Beauty’s Drenched Peptide Enriched Moisturizer that features ceramides, fruit extracts, and hyaluronic acid all of which seriously moisturize skin.

2. Exfoliate less often

2. EXFOLIATE LESS OFTEN

As the weather starts to cool down, it’s a good idea to cut back on retinoids. Instead, use glycolic treatment pads or a mask once a week to help improve skin tone and texture.

3. Switch cleansers

3. SWITCH CLEANSERS

Rather than using a gel cleanser in the fall and winter, you should use a creamy one that doesn’t foam up. This will ensure that skin doesn’t get stripped of its natural oils. LaserAway Beauty’s Come Clean Purifying Face Wash is just what your skin needs this fall. It’s a hydrating, hypoallergenic gentle facial cleanser that preserves the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

4. Slather on the SPF

4. SLATHER ON THE SPF

You probably wear sunscreen religiously during the summer, but it’s just as important to pile it on in the fall and winter, too, to help protect against premature aging. Just one application of SPF in the morning will do. Check out LaserAway Beauty’s BFF SPF 50+ broad-spectrum sunscreen tinted color corrector, which is a whipped, moisturizing sunscreen that offers superior protection against UVA and UVB rays.

5. Get regular facials

5. GET REGULAR FACIALS

Because skin can become dull in the fall and winter, regular facials every three or four weeks can help to brighten it. Opt for a superficial peel, exfoliating treatment, or gentle laser facial, such as Clear + Brilliant, to slough off dead skin and allow better absorption of moisturizers.

6. Wear lip balm

6. WEAR LIP BALM

Lips have a tendency to become dry and cracked during fall and winter. Instead of licking sore lips, reach for an emollient lip balm that locks in moisture. It should also have an SPF of 15 or higher to protect against sunburned lips.

7. Skip harsh toners

7. SKIP HARSH TONERS

You should go easy on toners, peels, and other astringents made with alcohol, which can be too drying. To prevent your skin from drying out, use witch hazel that’s alcohol-free.

8. Buy a humidifier

8. BUY A HUMIDIFIER

Since cold, dry air is a common cause of dry skin, you can use a humidifier to add back that moisture into the air. place a humidifier in your bedroom, and turn it on as soon as you turn the heat on for best results.

Radiant skin no matter the season

It’s easy to have radiant skin all year long by switching up your skincare routine throughout the year. Remember that fall and winter weather tends to dry out skin, causing it to become flaky and dull. But you can keep skin hydrated during the cooler months by using gentle, moisturizing skincare products and skipping products that strip skin of its natural oils.
